FSS Course Overview
Our forklift safety training program gives students a comprehensive understanding of workplace precautions and operations with this machinery to maximize employee safety. This course covers forklift safety from start to finish, including information about the mechanisms of the equipment and proper training to avoid accidents in your facilities.
Upon completion of our forklift driver safety training course, students should:
- Be able to identify different types and classes of forklifts.
- Understand forklift components like safety features and basic controls.
- Know and be able to apply forklift training requirements, including OSHA and ANSI standards.
- Identify hazardous locations and understand how they affect forklift operation.
This course will also take an in-depth look at the latest regulations for forklift safety enforced by OSHA and ANSI, including advancements in ANSI B56.1-2018 consensus standards.
Depending on your existing knowledge of workplace safety, the FSS course will take approximately 13 hours to complete. IACET accredited this program, so the course provides students with 1.3 continuing education units (CEUs) in ongoing learning. These credits will be indicated on your Forklift Safety Specialist certificate.
