Craig Bellew

Examination Committee Chair

Mr. Craig Bellew is the Director Corporate EHS for Airtek Construction. He is responsible for developing strategies to improve the company’s overall safety performance in its drive toward zero injuries. Craig has over 21 years of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) experience, having served in EHS and frontline management positions, and has extensive knowledge in Heavy Industrial Construction.

Craig holds a BS from Valdosta State University. He is a professional member of the American Society of Safety Professionals – ASSP and the National Safety Council – NSC.

Craig holds NASP’s Safety Professional Certificate (SPC) and Certified Safety Manager Certificate (CSM) credentials. He has several OTI certificates and is a Rigging and Signalman Instructor. In 2010, Craig was named to the National Safety Council – “NSC’s Top 40 under 40” for up-and-coming Safety Professionals for his work on the Darling Downs Combined Cycle Power Project in Queensland, Australia.

Michael Anastasio

Examination Committee Vice Chair

Mr. Michael Anastasio is the Environmental, Health, and Safety Site Manager SUEZ WTS (formerly GE Water), Trevose, Pennsylvania. As an EHS Manager for 400+ employees and contractors, he transforms businesses and instills a work culture based on safety. He is an Authorized OSHA Trainer with experience writing and implementing EHS training documents and EHS programs. His focus is on employee safety, training, and company compliance while searching for new and innovative ways to promote safety and cut costs.

Michael holds a BS Biology/ Minor in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh and is working towards his MS in Safety Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Michael holds NASP’s Safety Professional Certificate (SPC) credential. His additional credentials include, Certified HAZWOPER Trainer, Certified Forklift Trainer, and Confined Space Specialist.

Ed Vaquerano

Mr. Ed Vaquerano is the Principal EHS Analyst – Western Region for Timken. He provides EHS guidance for multiple sites across the western/central region, evaluates and streamlines programs such as IIPP, SWPPP, SPCC, equipment certifications, and SOPs. His role encompasses conducting audits such as Stormwater, SPCC, and Facility Fire & Safety/Environmental compliance. He has standardized the incident management process to include incident investigation documentation and training and has developed a compliant Respiratory Protection program to include Annual training, medical evaluation, and recordkeeping. He provides training for Crane & Rigging Certifications, Forklift Certifications, Hot Work, Emergency Evacuation training, and Lock Out/Tag Out.

Ed holds an MS in Occupational Safety and Health and a BS in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University.

Ed holds NASP’s Master Safety Professional (MSP) ® certification. He holds two BCSP credentials: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST). His additional credentials include 40 hr. Hazardous Waste Operation and Emergency Response Certified, OSHA 30 GI, Fall Protection Train the Trainer Instructor, 40hr. Crane Operation and Rigging TTT Instructor, FEMA Incident Command System 100 Course and Search & Rescue, Villanova University Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing Training (Yellow & Green Belt).

James Walker

Mr. James Walker is the Global Director of Health and Safety at OPEX, which is based out of New Jersey. He is a dedicated leader with 20+ years of experience in ensuring environmental health and safety. Within two years, he improved the Health and Safety program at OPEX from being on OSHA’s high hazard/incident rate radar to receiving the Governor’s Health and Safety award in New Jersey. His role encompasses governing and directing the implementation of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) systems through audits, reviews, and yearly plans. He directed and refined effective accident management processes, resulting in the achievement of zero lost time accidents; governed all activities of 400+ contractors and 150 employees while maintaining zero OSHA recordable status. James has worked in government and public sectors, such as AMAZON and KAR Global (Openlane).

James holds an MBA from Sullivan University, an MA in Occupational Health and Safety, and a BS in Environmental Management from Columbia Southern University.

James holds NASP’s Master Safety Professional (MSP)® and Certified Safety Director (CSD)® certifications. His additional credentials include Certified Environmental and Safety Compliance Officer, Certified Waste Management Professional, Process Safety Management Coordinator, Certified OSHA Outreach Trainer, Advanced Safety Professional, OSHA 10/30-Hour Certified, and First Aid/CPR/AED Trainer.

Ray Magruder

Mr. Ray Magruder is the Global Environmental, Health & Safety Director at Golden State Foods. He has over 30 years of experience as a Compliance Executive leading and driving systems in safety, risk, food safety, quality assurance, sanitation, and environmental and regulatory compliance. Strong leader with a proven track record of spearheading strategic efforts that reduce work‐related losses while enhancing existing systems and programs.

Ray holds a BS in Occupational Safety & Health from Columbia Southern University.

Ray holds NASP’s Certified Safety Director (CSD)® certification. He holds the Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS), Certified Safety & Health Manager (CSHM), and Certified Safety Management Practitioner (CSMP). His additional credentials include OSHA 30 Hour & OSHA 10 Hour Training, Ergonomics Train‐The‐Trainer, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor Certified, ISO 14001 Leader Auditor Certified, Lean Six Sigma – Green Belt, Certified Smith System Driver Trainer Quality Systems Assessment Lead Auditor. Ray was awarded the 2010 National OSHA VPP SGE of The Year and 2010 Region VII OSHA VPP Mentor of The Year.

Scott Mims

Mr. Scott Mims is the Vice President of Health, Safety, and Environmental for Nox Group. He is a Health, Safety, & Environmental Manager with over 35 years of experience in construction, specializing in heavy industrial projects in the oil & gas, power, water/wastewater, pulp & paper, mining, and tech sectors. He has provided HSE support and oversight from a corporate level for over 15 years.

Scott has worked for some of the largest construction and engineering firms in the world. He has experience on projects of all sizes and scopes, from megaprojects (4,000+ personnel, $1B+) in the oil & gas industry to small mining projects. In every role, Scott has recognized that supporting the craft and project leadership is priority one; enabling people to do the right thing is a key to success.

Scott holds NASP’s Master Safety Professional (MSP)® and Certified Safety Director (CSD)® certifications. He holds two BCSP credentials: Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) and Safety Management Specialist (SMS). His additional credentials include IRMI’s Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS).

Scott also serves as Chair for the Safety Committee of the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).

Charles C. Raziano

Mr. Charles C. Raziano is the Director of Health and Safety for Gannett Fleming PDC. He is responsible for the overall management of Health & Safety for all company operations. Mr. Raziano has over 31 years of experience in construction, transmission and distribution, safety-related trades, and Emergency Disaster Situations. He has extensive experience in coordinating work with design professionals, regulatory authorities, injury and health management, job site safety audits & inspections, strong field safety, and disaster support. Charles has worked on projects including casinos, hotels, parking garages, highway construction projects, prisons, wastewater treatment plants, Renewable Energy Wind Farm projects, associated transmission and distribution lines, substations, ITS Systems, PP&L, ConEd, National Grid, PSE&G, N Star, and CMP with gas and electrical transmission, distribution, and residential construction.

Charles holds a BS in Safety Engineering. He holds NASP’s Safety Professional Certificate (SPC) credential. Charles holds the credential of CUSP (Certified Utility Safety Professional) with Transmission & Distribution endorsement). He is an instructor in BLS First Aid, CPR & AED, OSHA 502 Outreach Trainer and 10 & 20 Hour T&D endorsement Trainer, Forklift- Aerial Lift, High Angle Climbing & Rescue trainer, and a Qualified DOT Drug Screening Administrator. His memberships include the World Safety Organization (WSO), NASP, and Utility Safety & Ops Leadership Network (USOLN). In 2019, Charles was awarded the Safety Professional of the Year Award by the North East Region Chesapeake Safety Council.
