Position Office: Field Office Northern Little Rock, Arkansas and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
OVERVIEW
The SSHO ensures compliance with all Safety and Health regulations and best practices for Warfeather LLC federal field projects. The SSHO generate innovative ideas for their project for building positive safety behavior while working independently and collaboratively with other projects throughout Warfeather to research safety products, regulations, consensus standard, and other concepts to be documented and easily understood by a broad audience.
REPORTS TO
- Project manager and director of safety.
JOB DUTIES
- Conducts extensive research to create, fact-check, review, and format various documents relating to Project Safety, Health and Operations; edits and updates documents as needed.
- Assist and advise the safety department in reviewing and submitting safety plans and travel for audits if the project schedule permits
- Maintains a strong understanding of Federal and State Health and Safety regulations and is highly knowledgeable on technical and regulatory aspects of workplace Safety and Operational Risks for Construction operations, such as Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, Excavation & Trenching, Hot Work, Traffic flow, Heat & Cold stresses, Electrical NFPA regulations, and Worker exposure to Hazards not listed that fall under construction.
- Provides safety-related and technical expertise to contribute to company-wide safety and health excellence, communicated clearly and documented policies and procedures that comply with safety regulations and operational expectations and built on Warfeather’s Mission Zero program.
- Builds collaborative and productive relationships, networking with key stakeholders to assist in influencing business decisions; plans, executes and evaluates complex assignments to develop site-specific and definable features of work that have a broad impact on Operations and Warfeather, LLC. Safety program.
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong knowledge and certification in Occupational Safety and Health (Degree Preferred)
- 5 years of relevant safety-related experience (Required)
- Federal Construction experience (Preferred)
- Certificate USACE/NAVFAC Quality Control Manager (Required)
- OSHA 30 Card Construction (Required)
- NASP or BCSP Construction Safety Manager Certification (Preferred)
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail regarding writing and editing written safety materials such as safety plans and Activity Hazard Analysis and assisting subcontractors with work plans.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Arkansas resident or Relocation is required for the position listed (Paid mobilization/demobilization job completion)
