We are currently seeking a Safety Administrator to help support this mission. In this role, you can expect to split your time between the office and any of our 37 stores in Washington state. If you agree, we invite you to join our team.Who We are Looking For: This position is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance in all aspects of workplace safety. Establishes policies, processes, and programs and develops and/or coordinates training programs to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with laws and regulations. Monitors and manages worker’s compensation claims and return to work programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Safety Programs & Awareness
§ Develop, deliver and monitor programs, policies and processes to build awareness and create a culture proactively focused on workplace safety.
§ Ensure existing programs are maintained and evaluated periodically to ensure maximum effectiveness.
§ Coach Safety Representatives at each location and ensure timely and proper training is accomplished and monitor to ensure goals are being accomplished.
§ Work in partnership with managers to investigate and evaluate workplace safety and health concerns or hazards and make recommendations for improvements.
§ Develop and maintain comprehensive Accident Prevention Program.
§ Develop standardized workplace inspection procedures and forms. Ensure all locations are conducting inspections on a regular, consistent basis.
§ Ensure all locations have established safety committees and provide training as necessary.
§ Periodically monitor locations for compliance.
§ Develop training programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
§ Hazardous Waste Knowledge preferred.
§ Drug Screening Knowledge: Random, Safety Sensitive Positions and DOT
§ Powered Industrial Truck experience preferred.
Worker’s Compensation
§ Administer worker’s compensation program and manage modified duty and return-to-work programs.
§ Coordinate with third party administrator.
§ Analyze statistics (worker’s compensation costs, accident trends, unemployment insurance claims, etc.) and implement process or policy changes for improved results.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job may supervise other administrative level staff.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree from college or university in safety, business or related field; and minimum 5 years experience in safety; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, ratios, and statistics. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Computer Skills : To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to develop newsletters, publications, and large spreadsheets and charts.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Washington State Drivers License

Other Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of human resources regulations and safety standards; able to develop and deliver training programs.

Other Considerations: Requires frequent travel to other Goodwill locations.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
