As a Safety Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Actively supporting Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Cultural Excellence through personal responsibility for EHS topics; promoting a culture to address incidents, near-misses, and potential hazards
Applying scientific, engineering principles and behavioral based systems to drive EHS risk reduction efforts and compliance activities
Acting as subject matter lead on site safety programs, leading efforts to improve existing programs and enact new Corporate/Divisional initiatives.
Communicating effectively in written and oral forms with peers and others at varying levels within the organization
Effectively presenting ideas one-on-one, in small groups, and to larger audiences by conveying the meaning and influencing decisions regarding EHS topics across various stakeholder groups.
Providing EHS support in the design and installation of new or modified equipment, industrial automation, incident investigation, and management of change processes.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Two (2) years of combined experience working in an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) role within a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Master’s degree or higher in a Science, Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) or related discipline from an accredited institution
Three (3) years of experience working in an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) role within a manufacturing/production environment (private, public, government or military)
Combined regulatory experience with Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) safety standards: General Industry (1910) and Construction (1926), Nationals Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes, American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards and other Federal, State or local regulations
Certification(s) such as: Certified Safety Professional® (CSP®)-Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP); Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)-Board for EHS Credentialing ® (BGC®) or other related credential(s)
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
