Certification:
Hazard Analysis Technician (HAT)
Course Objectives:
This course discusses Job Hazard Analysis, Change Analysis, Process Hazard Analysis, and Phase Analysis. The course includes a comprehensive Job Hazard Analysis tool. Job Hazard Analysis (or Job Safety Analysis) is the most widely used and effective means of identifying potential hazards in routine work performance. The Job Hazard Analysis is more effective in eliminating and reducing injuries and illnesses in the workplace because it not only uncovers hazardous conditions, it also identifies unsafe work practices and procedures. Combining Job Hazard Analysis with Change Analysis, Process Hazard Analysis, and Phase Analysis provides a well rounded a complete hazard analysis program.
Learning Outcome:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be
able to critically analyze each step of a job for unsafe conditions and unsafe practices,
determine whether the hazards can be eliminated or the job could be performed
differently to reduce exposure to the hazards.
Online Exams:
The student will take a comprehensive online exam at the end of the course. You must score 80% to receive certification. You have three opportunities to pass the exam.
Optional Credits:
The estimated time required to complete the course is 10 hours, but can be done at the student's own pace. Students will be given six months to complete the course.
One (1) CEU is offered through the University of North Carolina at Wilmington for this course. Recertification:
