The Safety Sentinel
The monthly NASP Newsletter, The Safety Sentinel, is designed to provide an accurate appraisal of current safety issues in a quick, concise and ready to use format for the busy safety director/manager.
Is it time to renew your NASP certification? Just like any professional certification, your NASP certifications must be renewed occasionally. NASP certifications must be renewed every three years. You can renew your certification in one of several different ways:
*You can take the online exam without reviewing the course material.
*You can review the course material, and then take the exam.
*You can complete the next higher level professional certification. By earning the next higher certification, you automatically refresh all of your lower level certifications.
NASP certifications are an important piece of your professional credentials. Don’t let them lapse. Check the date on your certificates. Call a member services representative at 1-800-922-2219 to register for a refresher course.

Online Testing ~ Fast, Easy, Convenient
All NASP courses now offer online exams at the end of the course. You can access the exam sign in page at your convenience. The exam is not timed. You must score 80% in order to be certified by NASP. The student has three opportunities to pass the
exam and gets an immediate score as soon as the exam is submitted. Did you purchase a safety course on CD from NASP that you have not yet completed? Please do not submit the written test to the NASP office. You, too, are eligible for the convenience of online testing. Contact membership@naspweb.com if you need the link to access the online exam link.
40 hr. Safety Manager/Trainer Course – Classroom Version
Since the recession began employers have been reluctant to expend the funds to send their students off for a classroom course. So we stopped offering a classroom version of the Safety Manager/Trainer course and many of the potential students have taken the independent study version of it. But we’re not ignoring those of you who have called in and asked for the classroom version of the course. We’ve decided to offer it on a demand basis. If you want the 40 hr. Safety Manager/Trainer Course – Classroom Version just call in and put your name on the list. Every time we get 20 names on the list we’ll offer the classroom version of the course.
NASP Receives New Veterans Administration Rating
NASP has been working under a VA program that allowed qualified veterans to pay their own tuition, pass our test and then be reimbursed by the VA.
Recently the Alabama/Northern Florida VA region has helped NASP get “vendorized” for that region. That means vets in that region don’t have to pay upfront and the VA .will pay their full tuition. This should open the door to all regions. Contact you VA rep and have them send us the “Vendorization” forms and you can do the same thing
